Dr. Thomas is the President, Chief Executive Officer and a founding member of the Special Care Medical Associates, PC.  He is a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Medical School and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  He is a Board Certified Internist and addiction specialist who has also completed post-graduate training in Preventive Medicine and Public Health.  His areas of special interest are addiction medicine, health policy, primary and long term care services.

Dr. Adeline Louis-Charles is a Board Certified Family Practitioner.  Since the completion of her training in 1993, Dr. Louis-Charles has directed her efforts to providing adult and pediatrics patient care services in ambulatory care settings and to the development of several private practice offices.  Dr. Louis-Charles has been an Associate since 1999.  Her areas of interest include: women and children care services and domestic violence.

Dr. Yvonne Waldemar graduated from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine where she received and award for community services.  She received postgraduate training in General Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in NYC.  After completing a fellowship in their Comprehensive Day Treatment Program she went to work in Prison Health Services on Rikers Island for almost 5 years.  This prepared her well to address all aspects of mental health issues.

For more than 20 years she has worked with a broad cross-section of the community including geriatrics, young mothers, adolescents and the homeless.  She has a keen understanding of the interaction between Culture, Mental illness and Substance abuse.

She continues to attend meetings to learn the latest tools available in her field.
